Our School prides itself on being unique in many areas. Most of this is due to our dedication of keeping as close as possible to a truly traditional martial arts school. This is reflected in the training and overall atmosphere of the School.It is the intent of our school to offer training to those who wish to challenge and better themselves physically as well as mentally, whether it be for self-defence, fitness, or personal goals.
It is also the goal of this School to teach the student to become a more complete martial artist by studying not only the martial aspects, but the art aspects as well.
This will include such things as observance and adhereing to certain rules of conduct, discussions and learning of principles and history, character and mental development, traditional and unique training exercises, etc..
In this way, it is our goal to develop and produce students that bring honor and respect to the School, from those who know them personally, and most importantly, to the individual themselves. This is the core foundation of the "Silent Dragon WuShu School".
It is also worth explaining the reasoning behind the
schools' name to better understand the School itself.
The "Silent Dragon" is meant to convey a non-boastful,
humble, and honorable creature that seeks to avoid conflict
when at all possible; yet capable and furious when provoked.
The term "WuShu" was chosen because it is a more
literal translation of Martial Art, in Chinese, than the more
commonly used term kung fu.
